beijing!

Sorry about the lack of updates. My internet has been down for the past week or so (I’m not sure if my landlord just turned off the wireless to spite me or what), so blogging has been out of the question. But I'll get back to updating the rest of my hong kong stay later. Why am i back in beijing? I left a bunch of money in a bank account there- thinking that I could access it in all of china (after all it is called the bank of china for a reason right?). but I was wrong, so I have to make a trip back there to get my money before heading to s.

(it actually works out being cheaper).

What did i do to celebrate my arrival? First thing was to eat some "yang rou chuanr" of course (lamb kebabs) and drink a bottle of pocari sweat (well they had this in hong kong too, but its much cheaper here).

Anyway- while I’m in the area, hopefully I’ll be able to contact mainland China’s first MC, MC Webber, DJ Wordy, and a few of the dance crews. The monthly section 6 party is going on tomorrow- v-nutz from shanghai comes up and djs it for free because he enjoys it so much- so it should be dope.

Beijing has changed quite a bit from two years ago- preparing for the olympics i guess, but that means there's only the expensive cabs now. but i have seen more random things in one day than in the entirety of my previous stays. for example

i've been bouncing around hostels, finally found one i like but now i found someone to stay with haha. i have been good this year or lucky- i've only stayed in a hostel for 4 nights this entire trip! so once i get settled in again i'll try to make a better post... its funny that i can post a blog in china but i can't view one. go figure.
